The University of Iceland Trust Fund

The University of Iceland scholarship funds supervise funds and gifts given to the University of Iceland. The funds are intended to support various projects in specific fields of study, for the prosperity of the University of Iceland, students or staff.

  • The Watanabe Trust Fund: The purpose of the Watanabe Trust Fund is to grant scholarships for a study period in Japan or Iceland, in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies; as well as to encourage the exchange of academic staff. 
  • The University of Iceland Student Achievement and Incentive Fund:The purpose of the University of Iceland Student Achievement and Incentive Fund is to encourage new students at the University of Iceland who have demonstrated academic excellence at the secondary level. The grants are allocated on a yearly basis in the spring. 
  • The Sigríður Lárusdóttir fund:Application deadline: Call for applications is announced. What does the fund support: Research in the field of orthopaedics. Special emphasis is placed on research relating to congenital hip joint defects, such as their heredity, frequency and consequences. For further information, send an email to sjodir@hi.is.
