The fund has operated the way it does now since 2005 when changes were made in the Fund’s organisation in order to allocate grants to students in graduate research studies at the University of Iceland. The first allocation was made in 2006.
The Eimskip University fund, along with the Lottery of the University of Iceland, contributed to the building of the University Centre that was opened in the beginning of December 2007.
The Eimskip University Fund operates according to an approved charter and an independent investment policy. Furthermore, the Fund has an independent operating board.
